THE MISANTHROPE
BY MOLIÈRE

April 23–May 18, 2008

Directed by David Kennedy

In a world ripe with gossip, intrigue, and endless litigation, one man takes a brave stand against hypocrisy — while all the time remaining blind to his own. Molière’s richly sophisticated comic drama chronicles a day in the life of Alceste, a man who loathes the glitter and glamour of high society, but loves the woman who most embodies it. A darkly funny exploration of conflicting obsessions, The Misanthrope is one of the greatest plays ever written.

The Foreigner
by Larry Shue

April 3 - 27

Charlie Baker is pathologically shy. To distance himself from human contact, he travels to a remote fishing lodge in rural Georgia and poses as a foreigner who can neither speak nor understand a word of English. But the plan hilariously backfires when he becomes the perfect person with whom the locals share their deepest secrets and schemes.

The Foreigner is a modern comic farce complete with mistaken identities, surprising plot twists, evil villains, and innocent damsels that will have you rolling in the aisles!

WHODUNNIT

A comedy-thriller by the author of Sleuth, ANTHONY SHAFFER

April 3 - May 4

Only one author wrote screenplays for both Alfred Hitchcock (Frenzy) and for novelist Dame Agatha Christie (Death on the Nile, Evil Under the Sun, and Murder on the Orient Express). “So whodunnit?” you ask. It was the brilliantly inventive Anthony Shaffer! In Whodunnit, he gleefully took all he learned from those masters and fashioned his own closed-circle-English-country-house-murder-mystery. And what characters…from horrifying to hilarious

Richard III
April 4 – May 3

In Richard III, Shakespeare creates a self-proclaimed villain battling to obtain and retain the crown. A ruthless Machiavellian, Richard seduces and slaughters his enemies and relatives, becoming so tainted with blood that "sin will pluck on sin." KDT Artistic Company member Ian Leson directs a new adaptation of this gripping tragedy, one of Shakespeare's earliest and most enduring successes, with local luminary René Moreno in the dazzling title role.
