| Get involved with Uptown Players
by joining our volunteer guild. This enthusiastic,
productive group of dedicated volunteers generously
donates its time and talents to assure our continued
success. Each area of volunteer assistance is
a vital part of the continuing operation of Uptown
Players. It is your chance to put your creativity
to good use. By using a little elbow grease or
being a good painter, a good seamstress, or a
great organizer, you can ensure the continued
success of Uptown Players. There's something for
everyone!
Ushering – responsible
for seating patrons during Uptown Players Productions.
Includes directing reserved seating patrons to
their seats, preparing programs to be handed out,
assisting at intermission, and help picking up
after each performance. If you woiuld like to

Mailing Committee – responsible
for preparing all general mailings for Uptown
Players. Uptown Players sends out 6 to 10 mailings
per year, including season mailings, as well as
specific show events. Preparing the mailings includes
placing the appropriate labels and postage on
each item, and any zip code sorting required by
the post office for bulk mailing.
Fundraising Committee –
responsible for assisting Uptown Players with
various fundraising events throughout the year.
This would include help in obtaining donated items
for auctions and raffles, and help in organizing
the events. It would also include manning a fundraising
table during performances throughout the year.
Theater Services Committee –
assists Uptown Players in short term projects
and functions on an "as needed basis".
This would include distributing posters and promotional
material to various hotels and businesses near
the theater, assist with cast dinners, assist
with auditions, and other miscellaneous projects
Set Committee – assists
in preparing the theater for set move-in and set
strike. This includes help in cleaning and organizing
the theater prior to opening and after closing,
loading in set pieces, basic painting, and striking
the set and set pieces after the closing performance.
Office Support Committee –
provides office support immediately prior to and
during productions. This would include assistance
with answering the phones, filing ticket orders,
creating reserved seating signs, and other administrative
duties.
Membership dues in the Guild are $20.00,
which covers our administrative costs.
